Normally, credit notes are issued from a sales order, but if it is outside of the trading period, the transaction is already locked, and therefore, it cannot be created using the usual method.
1. Open Zoho Inventory.
2. Move the cursor over Credit Notes under Sales and click the [+] icon on the right.
3. Move to the "New Credit Note" screen and enter the customer's name in the "Customer Name" field.
4. Enter the item name in the [ITEM DETAILS] field within the Item Table.
5. Enter the required quantity in the [Quantity] field.
6. Enter the necessary amount (price per unit) in the [Rate] field.
7. Click "Add Batch" under the [Quantity] field to transition to the "Add batch numbers for the selected item" screen.
8. Enter the batch number in the [BATCH REFERENCE*] field and the expiration date in the [EXPIRY DATE] field, then click [SAVE].
9. Once all required information is entered on the "New Credit Note" screen, click [Save as Open] at the bottom left of the screen.
10. If the "Digital signature is enabled for your organization" screen appears at the top, choose either "Sign and Open" or "Open Without Signature".
11. The created CREDIT NOTE screen will be displayed.
12. Click "Apply to invoice" at the top of the screen to transition to the "Apply Credits to Invoices" screen.
13. Enter the necessary amount in the "CREDIT TO APPLY" field of the related Invoice on the "Apply Credits to Invoices" screen and click [Save].
